We established an efficient protocol to generate esophageal epithelial progenitors (EPCs) from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). Inhibition of TGFß and BMP signaling is required for the differentiation of hPSCs into EPCs which can be further purified with EPCAM and Integrin ß4.
