Evidence suggests that BRCA1 mutation associated tumors have increased sensitivity to DNA damaging agents like cisplatin. Sporadic triple negative breast cancers (TNBC) have many phenotypic similarities to BRCA1 tumors and may have a similar sensitivity to cisplatin.
