Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the second most common cause of cancer deaths worldwide. Altered DNA methylation landscapes are ubiquitous features of cancer. Interpretation of epigenetic aberrations in HCC is confounded by effects of multiple etiologic drivers and underlying cirrhosis in most cases.
