This Suid alphaherpesvirus 1 bulk-RNA-seq from Oxford Nanopore MinION platform generated 12 million long reads (11.4 gigabases) with moderate quality (53.1% GC) and lower base-calling accuracy typical of long-read sequencing. The long-read data enables full-length viral transcript sequencing and resolution of complex RNA structures in this porcine virus.
