This Abies balsamea (balsam fir) bulk RNA-Seq dataset from the 454 GS FLX Titanium platform generated 797,060 long reads (435.3 million bases) with good quality (90.9% Q20, 76% Q30 bases) and minimal N-content (0.023%). The long-read EST approach enables full-length transcript recovery in this conifer species.
