This WGS of Streptomyces sp. PAMC 26508 on PacBio RS delivers 187.8 Mb across only 133k long reads with perfect quality (100% Q20 and Q30), demonstrating the PacBio platform's strength in generating continuous reads spanning repetitive regions common in high-GC Streptomyces genomes. The longer reads resolve complex actinomycete architecture better than short-read technology. Antibiotic-producer genomics can use this long-read WGS for complete genome assembly.
